This definition of "Americanism" was promulgated by the Commanders in Chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, United Spanish War Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the United States, The National commanders of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans of the World War at the conference held in Washington, in February 1927.
With Veterans from World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War, other donations, volunteer support and hard work the VFW Post Home in Tonganoxie Kansas was built in 2000.
The Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tonganoxie was organized and received their charter 23rd day of March 2002.
The Post home is located at 910 East First St. in Tonganoxie.
The Post home is surrounded by a beautiful park built by local VFW members. It covers 15 acres and is located at 900 E. First Street. It is a quiet wooded area with picnic facilities, flower garden, exercise trail, and shelters. It is a private park maintained by volunteers. The park features a memorial obelisk with names of those from our area who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country.
